摘要

The textile and apparel industry is under growing pressure to use sustainable packaging. It reduces environmental pollution. Sustainable packaging is essential for reducing environmental impacts. It strengthens the textile and apparel supply chain. This review looks at sustainable packaging, focusing on eco-friendly materials, circular innovations, major challenges, and future research directions. Conventional packaging generates a lot of waste, carbon emissions, and uses many resources. Eco-friendly alternatives are required that protect clothing items while being sustainable for the environment. Materials like biodegradable plastics, recycled paper, and plant-based composites showed opportunities for reducing impact without losing quality. Circular packaging, such as reusable and recyclable designs. It helps to save resources. It supports a circular economy. Analysis suggests that several challenges remain, including making durable materials, the higher costs for small businesses, and unclear or varying regulations across countries. Advanced technologies like blockchain and the Internet of Things (IoT) can improve how packaging is tracked and made transparent throughout the supply chain. This study highlights the need of cooperation among fashion brands, retailers, policymakers, and researchers to develop solutions that are affordable, scalable, and meet legal standards. Future research should focus on utilizing green materials, improving textile recycling tehnologies, and aligning policies.
