<p>Research studies in fiber waste recycling need to be significant in producing adoptable methods useful in industry particularly to local materials, machines, methods, and procedures used. Currently, smaller recycled content in textile product market indicates the lacking of industry and commercial sector participation in the design, development and execution. Studies need to be based on industry and commercial requirements. There are examples where studies made in fiber waste recycling required more work for industrial utilization. To enhance the shift of research findings for sustainability and textile product market, the participation of industry and commercial sector is required. Therefore, the sectional interfacial metrics are determined indicating the acceptability of recycled fibers in commercial place. It is important to appreciate the participation of operating system at commercial or industrial levels. In this study, therefore, two novel metrics are defined and introduced: first is the Industry Participation Index (IPI), and the second is Industrial and Commercial Rating (ICR). These metrics can guide the collaborative participation of industry and commercial sector in the directional and continuous progress of recycling research. These metrics are applied and discussed in selected local studies. IPI guides the recycling research, and ICR guides the findings of the recycling research study. This is followed by the demonstration of applying the IPI and ICR to fiber recycling research studies in one region. The studies were selected based on the PRISMA methodology, and reviewed. The main research gaps exist in turning the significant financial and physical work into fiber recycling at industrial and commercial levels. This study will ultimately be useful and effective in directing research in textile circular economy through improved expert’s participation.</p>
