摘要

This paper explores India’s path to achieving net zero emissions through the integration of circular economy principles. As global climate goals necessitate a transformative shift from traditional linear economic models, India faces unique challenges due to its rapid industrialization and environmental pressures. This research highlights the alignment of circular economy practices—such as waste-to-energy initiatives, circular design, and extended producer responsibility—with India’s climatic conditions. Through comparative analysis with leading nations and a review of key initiatives like the Swachh Bharat Mission and the National Resource Efficiency Policy, the paper identifies critical challenges including inadequate waste management infrastructure, low consumer awareness, and limited technological adoption. It emphasizes the need for comprehensive policy frameworks and strategic investments to overcome these barriers. The study concludes that adopting circular economy principles not only aligns with India’s net zero targets but also offers substantial opportunities for resource efficiency and sustainable growth, underscoring the importance of collaborative efforts and innovative solutions in India’s climate strategy.
