摘要

Coir, a natural fibre extracted from coconut husks, stands out for its distinctive qualities such as versatility, sustainability, strength, and thermal insulation. Widely employed across diverse industries, including agriculture, textiles, construction, automotive, and household products, coir has become a pivotal component in modern composites. This paper focuses on the development of coir-latex composites through a compression molding process, utilizing both continuous and short coir fibres as reinforcement and latex as the matrix phase. The study systematically examines specimens with varying percentages of latex content using a scanning electron microscope (SEM). The resulting micrographs provide significant observations into the intricate microstructural behaviour of the coir-latex composites. By dealing into the microscopic realm, this work contributes to a deeper understanding of the interplay between coir fibres and latex, shedding light on the composite material’s potential applications across different industries.
