<p>The present study reports the first confirmed record of the <i>Colletes bhutanicus</i> Kuhlmann, 2003 from India, extending its known Oriental distribution. Specimens were collected and observed during surveys in the Tawang district of Arunachal Pradesh in the Eastern Himalayas, and identified through detailed morphological examination, including male genitalia. We also provide an updated global distribution map and the first comprehensive account of floral linkages of the species. <i>C. bhutanicus</i> displayed a broad generalist foraging range, interacting with 25 plant species across 10 families, primarily Asteraceae and Brassicaceae. Its consistent visitation to regional crops highlights the ecological flexibility of the bee species and suggests potential as an alternative managed pollinator in Himalayan agroecosystems, underscoring the value of heterogeneous agricultural-natural landscapes for managed pollination.</p>
