<p>Pesticides are widely used in agriculture before harvest to protect growing crops from pests and diseases, and after harvest to prevent post-harvest losses during storage and handling. However, their use in Egyptian fields has been associated with potential health risks hazards to humans due to misuse or excessive application. Therefore, this study assessed the rural women’s practices of rural women regarding during the safe handling, dealing, and use of pesticides. The research was conducted face-to-face interviews by questioning 271 women farmers from three agricultural villages in the Abu Homous district of El-Beheira Governorate, Egypt. Results showed that the average age of participating women in the study was 35&#xa0;years, with 29.50% of them being illiterate and 50.21% having at least a technical diploma. All respondents had direct or indirect contact with pesticides, and 98.90% of them lived close to the sprayed fields. However, 6.30% of these women managed the storage of pesticides. Additionally, 48.30% of these women lacked the necessary skills to safely use pesticides, including transporting, purchasing, preparing spray solutions, applying, and storing them. However, the respondents exhibited low to average levels of knowledge regarding effective pesticide handling practices. Correlation analysis showed significant positive relationships between education levels and practices of safe handling, application, and use of pesticides by rural women. The lack of awareness of best agricultural practices regarding pesticides resulted in careless actions. Therefore, an executive action plan was proposed with educational strategy to enhance the skills of safe pesticide handling and safe use among women farmers.</p>
