<p>The present work investigates the diversity of Tenebrionidae beetles in four zones of Guelmim – Oued Noun region of the Moroccan Sahara: Assa-zag, Guelmim, TanTan and Sidi Ifni. The survey was carried out over two consecutive years (2022 and 2023), using pitfall traps, beating the plants and sight hunting. Results of studying 172 specimens, 45 species belonging to 16 tribes were identified. Amongst these species, 60% are detritivores, 33% Herbivorous and 7% Saprophagous.The geographical distribution of the species includes several distinct categories: North Africa species (34%), wider distributions (29%), Mediterranean species (22%) and Moroccan (= endemic species) (15%).conclusion, the preservation of the rich diversity in the Guelmim – Oued Noun region is crucial and depends on implementing effective management measures. This study highlights the importance of conserving this arid zone and emphasizes its potential for further discoveries in Moroccan fauna. The ongoing observation and discovery of new species underscore the ecological significance of the region and the need for continued conservation efforts.</p>
