<p>Wasp predators in niches of their origin as well as entry to new continents are consistently predating on honey bees worldwide and their menace has become a priority Continuous research has given various menace alternate ways, but none are stringent or comprehensive. This study aims to understand the incidence of different species of predatory wasps of <i>Apis mellifera</i> honey bees, assess the impact of biotic as well as abiotic factors on their incidence and colony performance of honey bees and also devise an efficient and affordable wasp management technique. Predatory wasps were monitored for their diversity and the species namely <i>Vespa mandarinia</i> Smith, <i>Vespa auraria</i> Smith, <i>Vespa tropica</i> (Leefmansi) Vecht. and <i>Vespa basalis</i> Smith were found predating the colonies. Among them, <i>V. auraria</i> recorded the highest number of attacks per colony per day throughout the season. The correlation studies revealed no significant relation between wasp incidence and weather parameters (temperature, relative humidity and rainfall), except for <i>V. tropica</i> which showed positive significant correlation with rainfall. Additionally, wasp incidence showed no significant correlation with any colony performance parameters (strength, brood area, pollen and nectar). Different types of honey traps were evaluated for their effectiveness in attracting the wasps. Among eleven treatments, a honey glass bottle (750&#xa0;ml) bait trap kept at distances of; 7″ to the side, 3″ towards the front and 1″ below the hive entrance was found to be the most effective. The cheap and easily affordable wine glass bottle trap, had the highest number of wasp catches, i.e. <i>V. auraria</i> (57.08 ± 2.11 wasp/trap/week), <i>V. basalis</i> (41.8 ± 1.83 wasp/trap/week) and <i>V. tropica</i> (53.88 ± 5.03 wasp/trap/week), respectively.</p>
