摘要

Pulvinaria kalyaniensis Talukdar and Das and P. indica Avasthi and Shafee (Hemiptera: Coccomorpha: Coccidae), are two understudied soft scale insects that are endemic to India. P. kalyaniensis was recently described by Talukdar and Das in 2021 on Azadirecta indica L. from West Bengal; P. indica was described by Avasthi and Shafee in 1985 on Duranta repens Linn. from Andhra Pradesh and subsequently by Joshi et al. in 2019 on Capsicum annum L. from Karnataka. Here we record two species, one on a novel host plant and another with a new distribution. We studied the intraspecific morphological variability by updating the morphological characterization of females of both species. The first time DNA barcoding through the mitochondrial cytochrome oxidase 1 (CO1) gene for these two species is also provided.
