摘要

White grubs (Scarabaeidae: Coleoptera) are subterranean pests of several economically important crops all over the world. The phytophagous larvae from the subfamilies Melolonthinae, Rutelinae and Dynastinae attack crop roots, while the adults are defoliators that feed on plant foliage. Yield loss due to these white grubs is in the range of 12–100 per cent. This review presents a literature survey of their species diversity, bioecology and control measures to facilitate better management strategies in farming.
