Sida rhombifolia var. maderensis (Malvaceae): new record for north-east India and notes on typification
摘要
This research reports the first documented discovery of Sida rhombifolia var. maderensis in north-east India. The plant specimen was collected near the Sonapur River in the Jaintia Hills district of Meghalaya. Before this finding, the occurrence of this particular variety was limited to Kerala state of India only and a few nations, including Sudan, Ethiopia, Eritrea, Kenya, Zanzibar, Eastern South Africa, and Seychelles. To aid in accurate identification, this study provides a comprehensive morphological description, accompanied by taxonomic notes and supplementary visual materials, including photographs, a distribution map, and illustrations. We also provided the notes on its typification.
