<p>The present communication deals with the anatomical and palynological studies of <i>Staurogyne argentea</i> Wall. and <i>S. simonsii</i> (T.Anderson) Kuntze, the two current representatives of the genus <i>Staurogyne</i> Wall. from Assam, India. <i>S. argentea</i> is considered as the type species of the genus <i>Staurogyne</i>. Through this investigation, critical observation was carried out to unfold taxonomic understanding of these two species of the genus based upon various anatomical and palynological features.</p>

摘要
