摘要
Sangestar Tso is high altitude wetland in the Tawang district of Arunachal Pradesh, India. During the field tour, a very interesting specimen was collected and the species was seen growing on grassy fallow land at about 3708 m elevation. The specimen was identified as Maianthemum atropurpureum (Franch.) LaFrankie based on morphological characterization, and study of the protologue and type specimens deposited at P. The species is so far restricted to China. So, the present collection is reported here as a new record from Eastern Himalaya (Tawang) of Arunachal Pradesh. A brief description, phenology, distribution, illustration and photo plate have been provided for easy identification in the field. A lectotype is also designated here for its basionym Tovaria atropurpurea Franch.
