A new note on the distribution of Mimosa diplotricha C. Wright (Fabaceae) in Eastern India
摘要
Mimosa diplotricha C. Wright is reported first time from Odisha, Eastern India. The species is a scandent undershrub plant without prickles, but with bipinnately compound leaves, capitulum inflorescence and clustered pods. Here, a detailed description, habitat/ecology, phenology, micro-morphological and field photographs were provided for easy identification. This study also came up with a dichotomous key of Mimosa species of the region and furnished with a distribution map of M. diplotricha across India. Additionally, a brief account on the ecological implications and methods used to control the invasion of M. diplotricha was provided.
