摘要

This experiment was carried out during two successive seasons (2020/2021and 2021/2022) at the Research and Production Station of the National Research Centre, El-Nubaria location, Governorate of El-Behera, Egypt. It was conducted to evaluate the response of coriander plants to different levels of tryptophan (0, 200, 400 and 600 ppm). All concentrations of tryptophan led to significant increases in vegetative growth and yield. The effect was more pronounced with 600 ppm of tryptophan. Essential oil percentage and yield increased with all treatments of tryptophan. Moreover, tryptophan treatments increased total carbohydrate especially at 600 ppm. GC–MS analysis cleared that the main identified components of essential oil were linalool, gamma-terpinene and alpha-pinene. The maximum relative percentage of linalool (87.84%) was produced as a result of 200 ppm.
