Anacardium occidentale (AO) is a plant species commercially available in agricultural sector. The bibliometric analyzes were fragmented into four stages, that is, data acquisition, data pre-processing, statistical calculation and application analysis. For detailed analysis and graphical presentation, Biblioshiny and VOS viewer software were used. 2226 documents related to OA were identified, with an average of 21.08 citations per document and an average number of citations per year per document of 1.871. Research on AO has grown significantly over 78 years, reflecting a continued interest in its biological properties. The predominant areas of research include agricultural and biological Sciences (n = 1154) along with biochemistry and genetics (n = 385). The collaborative index was 3.52. Across all publications, 4,320 departments or institutes and 89 countries also contributed significantly. The main contributing countries were Brazil (n = 698), India (n = 396) and the United States (= 169). This study provides essential thematic and descriptive information about A. occidentale.
