摘要

The quality of proposed solutions is critical for crowdsourcing performance of both solvers and seekers. This study aims to understand the influence of task characteristics on solution quality and further examine the effects of interaction. Data collected from a field survey of two crowdsourcing websites are analyzed to test the proposed hypotheses. Empirical results indicate that both task complexity and task ambiguity have negative effects on solution quality. Notably, this study suggests that the negative effect of task ambiguity on high-quality solutions could be significantly mitigated with a high level of interaction. This paper enhances research and practice by figuring out how to improve solution quality with interaction when complex tasks and ambiguous tasks are there.
