Study on the Influence Mechanism of Filtering Parameters in Wet Filtration Dust Removal System

In order to study the best working performance of a wet filter dust collector (WFDC), a small WFDC was designed and manufactured in the laboratory. Firstly, by studying the filter parameters that affect the performance of the WFDC, the best operating conditions under a single filter parameter were obtained. Secondly, a multi-factor orthogonal experiment was designed to evaluate the dust removal performance of the WFDC. The results of laboratory studies showed that when the spray pressure was 0.8 MPa, the filtration velocity was 7.9 m/s, and the filtration precision was 40 mesh; the total dust efficiency and respirable dust efficiency were 98.47% and 88.89%, respectively. The WFDC had the best dust removal performance. Finally, the dust removal performance of the WFDC was verified in the field. The results showed that the total dust efficiency was 93.64%, 95.85%, and 96.21% at the driver’s place, the reversed loader, and 50 m from the heading face, respectively.
