A Piezoelectric Nonlinear Energy Sink for Vibration Suppression of Thin Plates Based on Optimal Target Energy Transfer Characteristics
摘要
The piezoelectric nonlinear energy sink (PE-NES) realizes nonlinear stiffness through a nonlinear shunt circuit, which solves the problem of complex structure and difficult parameter adjustment of the conventional NESs. This paper introduces a PE-NES system and used it to reduce vibration of the thin plates.
MethodsA two degrees-of-freedom (DOF) model of a coupled system of a rectangular thin plate with a PE-NES is established, and the target energy transfer (TET) characteristics of the coupled system is analyzed by using slow invariant manifolds (SIM), nonlinear normal modes (NNM) and the response surface of the system. The finite element method (FEM) is used to validate the modes and modal shapes of the plate with a PE-NES. The software in the loop (SIL) simulation by the SIMULINK model of the coupled system with the PE-NES and main system is performed to validate the numerical simulation.
ResultsBy analyzing the SIM, NNMs and forced responses of the coupled system, the two regimes for the additional branch are observed under different mass ratio of the system. The analytical formulae for the amplitude of the vibration suppression platform and the threshold interval of the optimal TET for two regimes are obtained. The accuracy of the theoretical analysis is verified by using the FEM and the SIL simulation.
ConclusionBy considering the TET efficiency of the PE-NES and the applicability range of the analytical relation, the analytical calculation method of the optimal TET characteristic is proposed, which can be used for the rapid design and optimization of parameters of PE-NESs for different application scenarios. This paper provides a theoretical basis for the practical application of PE-NESs in structural modal vibration suppression for vehicle body vibration control.
