Agrarian Crisis, Farmer Suicides and Women Farmers in India: A Systematic Literature Review
摘要
The review study aimed to comprehend the magnitude of the agrarian crisis and farmer suicide that began to manifest across India in the 1990s.The review study followed the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) methodology. The agrarian crisis and farmer suicide in India have multiple underlying causes, including the impacts of globalisation and neoliberal economic transformation. The results highlighted farmers’ difficulties, which are made worse by multiple circumstances, including financial hardship and environmental misfortunes. Furthermore, despite women farmers’ significant contributions, the review highlights that women are underrepresented in agriculture, which points to structural prejudices and obstacles to their involvement.
