CubeSat Antenna Designs in the Last 2 Decades (2002–2023): A Survey

CubeSats are small satellites that are widely used for various purposes such as remote sensing, telecommunications, and space research. Due to their low cost and feasibility for future space programs, CubeSats have gained great popularity recently. However, designing and constructing CubeSats for different missions require meeting specific constraints, including size, weight, and the structure of the antenna deployment system. Antenna design is one of the critical factors in the construction of CubeSats, and it requires careful consideration of mission requirements. To address this issue, 90 articles on CubeSat antenna design published in the last 20 years were reviewed and categorized in this research. Examining the proposed designs for CubeSat antennas will help engineers to develop better antenna designs for CubeSat missions.
