<p>For individuals who experience migraines frequently, preventive treatment is often suggested. Angiotensin receptor blockers (ARBs) have shown promising effects on migraine. These medications are appealing due to their manageable side effects and relatively low cost. This study aims to explore how effective ARBs might be in preventing migraines by analyzing data from several previous studies on migraine-free days. This systematic review and meta-analysis were conducted according to PRISMA guidelines with a search performed on PubMed, Embase, and the Cochrane Library. The analysis was conducted using the “random-effects model”, and the forest plots were generated using Review Manager Software (REVMAN). The outcomes analyzed in the study were Migraine frequency, headache days, analgesic, and triptan use. A total of five studies with 293 participants were included in this research. Three out of five studies examined migraine frequency and found that ARBs treatment resulted in an average of 3.10 migraine days per month. Similarly, three studies reported headache days, with ARBs linked to an average of 13.20 headache days per month. Regarding medication usage, two studies each reported on Triptans and Analgesics, showing slight reductions in usage, but the results were statistically non-significant due to small sample size. This meta-analysis confirms that ARBs can be effective in preventing migraines and are generally well-tolerated. They may be a good option for patients who have been resistant to other treatments. However, since the analysis was limited to five single-arm trials, more well-designed double-arm randomized controlled trials (RCTs) are needed to make the results more statistically robust.</p>
