摘要

This study was carried out to determine the levels of hopelessness and fatigue in kidney transplant patients. The sample of the descriptive study consisted of 100 patients who underwent transplantation at a university hospital between 2012 and 2022, who underwent outpatient clinic checks between May 2023 and January 2024 and met the research criteria. Before the research, ethics committee and institutional permission were obtained, and verbal and written consent was obtained from the patients. The Introductory Information Form, Beck Hopelessness Scale and Chalder Fatigue Scale were used to collect the data. The patients’ mean CFS total score was 10.36 ± 5.93. The patients’ mean BHS total score was 3.53 ± 3.63. There was a statistically significant and positive relationship between the patients’ level of hopelessness and their physical (r = 0.382; p < 0.001), mental (r = 0.255; p = 0.011) and general fatigue (r = 0.376; p < 0.001) levels. As the level of fatigue increased, their hopelessness also increased. As a result of the study, it was determined that the fatigue levels of the patients were below average and their general hopelessness levels were low.
