<p><i>Zamioculcas zamiifolia</i> (Lodd.) Engl. commonly known as the ZZ plant, is a popular ornamental valued for its tolerance to low light and drought. In December 2024, stem rot symptoms were observed on ZZ plants grown under polyhouse conditions at the College of Agriculture, Parul University, Vadodara, Gujarat, India (22.289° N, 73.364° E). Affected plants showed basal stem and rhizome rot. The associated fungus was isolated on potato dextrose agar (PDA), producing dense white mycelium with distinct dark, firm sclerotia. Pathogenicity tests reproduced identical symptoms, thereby fulfilling Koch’s postulates. Molecular identification based on ITS rDNA sequencing (GenBank accession no. PQ613299) confirmed the pathogen as <i>Agroathelia rolfsii</i>. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first report of stem rot of <i>Z. zamiifolia</i> caused by <i>A. rolfsii</i> in India, expanding its known host range and underscoring the need for vigilance in ornamental plant health management.</p>
