<p>Mango leaves exhibiting typical begomovirus symptoms were collected from farmers’ fields in Kolar district, Karnataka state, India. The causal agent responsible for the mosaic symptoms in mango was identified through PCR amplification using primers specific to begomovirus DNA-A and DNA-B components. The amplified PCR products were subsequently cloned and sequenced. Sequence analysis of the DNA-A and DNA-B components of the begomovirus infecting mango (MG1 isolate) revealed a maximum nucleotide identity more than 98% with several isolates of tomato leaf curl New Delhi virus (<i>Begomovirus solanumdelhiense</i>) known to infect different crops in the Indian subcontinent.</p>
