<p>To identify races in <i>Uromyces vicia-fabae</i>, thirty one resistant lentil lines were selected from screening one thousand lines during 2021-22 and 2022-23. These selected lines were further evaluated under field and greenhouse conditions. Field evaluations were carried out at PAU Regional Research Station, Gurdaspur (Punjab); CSK HPKV Research Sub Station, Akrot (Himachal Pradesh) and Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Langroya (Punjab). Resistance levels varied across genotypes and locations. Genotypes IC241413 and IC241249 showed high resistance (disease rating = 1) at all sites. IC241495 and IC24127 scored 3 at all locations. LL931 scored 3 at Langroya &amp; Gurdaspur and 5 at Akrot; LL1373 scored 5 at Akrot &amp; Langroya and 7 at Gurdaspur; IC241752 scored 7 at Gurdaspur, 3 at Akrot and 5 at Langroya; IC241200 scored 7 at Gurdaspur, 3 at Akrot and 9 at Langroya; IC241273 scored 5 at Gurdaspur, 3 at Akrot &amp; Langroya. In greenhouse, these were evaluated against eight isolates of <i>Uromyces viciae-fabae</i>. Twenty three genotypes were susceptible (infection type = 3–4), while eight (PL134, IC241200, IC241752, IC241413, IC241249, IC241495, IC241278 and IC241273) showed resistance to at least one isolate, i.e. gave differential reaction. Based upon host-pathogen interactions, five pathotypes (LRP- Lentil rust pathotype) were detected. Three isolates were placed in pathotype LRP-1; two isolates in LRP-2 and one isolate each in LRP-3, LRP-4 and LRP-5. Pathotype LRP-3 was the most virulent causing susceptible reaction in 4 out of 8 lines whereas, LRP-5 was the least virulent, causing susceptible reaction in 2 lines.</p>
