<p><i>Bacopa monnieri</i> is a perennial medicinal herb, widely used in ayurvedic medicines. During the field survey, symptoms of stolon rot were observed on the stems of <i>B. monnieri</i> in August-September, 2021. The initial symptoms were rotting of the stem and leaves at soil line with white cottony mycelial tuft and reddish brown spherical or asymmetric sclerotia around the basal parts. The associated fungus was isolated on PDA. It produced spherical to irregular shaped sclerotia having 0.8 to 2.8&#xa0;mm diameter. Based on the morphological and molecular sequencing of ITS region, the associated pathogen was identified as <i>Agroathelia rolfsii.</i> Besides, the Koch’s postulates were also proved confirming the isolated pathogen as <i>A. rolfsii</i> as the causative agent of stolon rot disease in brahmi (<i>Bacopa monnieri</i> L.).</p>

摘要

Bacopa monnieri is a perennial medicinal herb, widely used in ayurvedic medicines. During the field survey, symptoms of stolon rot were observed on the stems of B. monnieri in August-September, 2021.
