摘要

Phaseolus vulgaris commonly known as common bean is an important legume crop cultivated in Meghalaya, North-East India. However, yellowing of the leaves of Phaseolus vulgaris with brown to black spots which later coalesce covering a larger leaf area was observed in the East Khasi Hills district of Meghalaya, India. Once plants were infected, disease incidence of 30 to 50% was observed on the leaves. Experiments were conducted fulfilling Koch’s postulates to find out the causal agent, and after molecular sequencing the pathogen was identified as Epicoccum sorghinum.
