摘要

Anthracnose disease, caused by the fungus Colletotrichum lindemuthianum is a serious seed borne disease in Himachal Pradesh. A survey conducted in the 2023-24 cropping season in different locations showed varying levels of disease incidence, ranging from 2.0 to 85.0%. The districts Shimla and Kinnaur had the highest incidence of disease, while the district Lahaul and Spiti had the minimum. The incidence and severity of anthracnose in common bean is affected by high rainfall and humidity levels. These conditions create an environment that is conducive to the development of anthracnose. By utilizing the knowledge gained from current research, farmers in the Lahaul and Spiti region of Himachal Pradesh can better protect their bean crops and this will ultimately lead to improved bean productivity and food security.
