Reengaging with the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) Boundary Object
摘要
In this commentary, Lydia Burke and Marie-Claire Shanahan revisit themes from their 2016 paper Using a Boundary Object Perspective to Reconsider the Meaning of STEM in a Canadian Context (published in this journal). By examining the titles and abstracts of articles published in CJSMTE, alongside articles that have cited our original text, we explore the trends in meanings that scholars in the field of education associate with the STEM construct. We make suggestions for future directions for scholars and educators seeking to be more intentional in their engagement with STEM.
