<p>The purpose of this article is to share a secret, a secret concerning mathematics education matters here in Canada, and a secret that I have been holding onto for years. No longer, however. My secret, that future teachers of mathematics in elementary school can obtain their Bachelor of Education degree taking but one course devoted to the teaching and learning of mathematics, better known across the country as a mathematics methods course, is not my burden. It is my burden, though, to teach that one course each and every semester, year after year. If you’re wondering, yes, that is a lot of pressure to put on one person. Fortunately, for me, I have found a way to sleep soundly after each semester. In a weird twist of fate, my sleeping soundly is rooted in an environment that can be best described as Chernoff's&#xa0;Math Class Nightmares, which is eerily similar to the television show, <i>Ramsay’s Kitchen Nightmares</i>.</p>
