摘要

The diagnostic competence of teachers is a crucial factor in promoting basic education. This paper examines judgment accuracy as a subdomain of diagnostic competence, focusing on the spelling performance of third-grade students through quantitative mistake analyses. The study captures this competence in two different writing dimensions: integrated writing (texts) and non-integrated writing (tests). The results show that teachers can largely assess their students’ spelling performance accurately, measured by the number of mistakes per 100 words. At the same time, the assessments are more strongly aligned with the results of non-integrated writing, a primarily school-relevant writing dimension, rather than a didactically oriented and basic education-related skill.
