<p>Date fruits and their processed products are the most common edible fruits in the central region of Saudi Arabia. Despite the high concentration of sugars in dates, some diabetics consume them daily, raising an important question: Are dates beneficial or harmful for individuals with diabetes and obesity, two major lifestyle-related disorders? The current study aimed to evaluate the phytochemical profile, mineral content, and antioxidant potential of the methanolic extract from two date palm varieties (Wannana and Asilah) derived from Qassim date cultivars. Additionally, the study sought to investigate their in vitro antidiabetic potential, and antidyslipidemic activity. The assessment of essential minerals in the various vinegars studied, conducted through ICP analysis, demonstrated their abundance in a range of essential macro- and microelements. Total phenolic (TPC) and flavonoid (TFC) contents were estimated at 17.85 ± 0.38&#xa0;mg GA/g and 7.06 ± 0.28&#xa0;mg QE/g for Wannana variety, while in Asilah variety were 17.49 ± 0.07&#xa0;mg GA/g and 6.87 ± 0.11&#xa0;mg QE/g, respectively. The Total condensed tannin content (TCTC) was measured as 12.35 ± 0.97&#xa0;mg CE and 31.18 ± 0.90&#xa0;mg CE per gram for Wannana and Asilah variety, respectively, of the dried plant extract. LC-MS/MS analysis detected the presence of caffeic acid and quercetin in both fruits of the date palm varieties. The antioxidant potential was evaluated using the 2,2-diphenyl-1picrylhydrazil (DPPH) radical scavenging and total antioxidant activity assays and the results showed good antioxidant capacity (between 24.33 and 18.24&#xa0;mg/g). Moreover, a stronger α-glucosidase inhibitory activity was observed for the Asilah variety, with an IC₅₀ value of 165 ± 80&#xa0;µg/mL, which is lower than that of the standard drug acarbose (IC₅₀ = 245 ± 12&#xa0;µg/mL) and the Wannana variety (IC₅₀ = 327 ± 16&#xa0;µg/mL), indicating higher potency. Finally, various anti-dyslipidaemic analyses revealed the significant ability of the different date varieties to inhibit pancreatic lipase and cholesterol esterase activities in a concentration-dependent manner. This study highlights the nutritional and therapeutic benefits of two varieties of date palm fruits and underscores their potential applications in nutraceuticals and functional foods.</p>
