摘要

Aware of the vulnerability of polymers to thermal and oxidative degradation, the manufacturing industry actively seeks innovative and efficient solutions to enhance product quality and extend durability. PVC, a versatile material utilized across various sectors, is particularly prone to high temperatures, UV radiation, or chemical agents. This degradation compromises the material properties, resulting in decreased flexibility, altered color, fragility, and reduced mechanical strength. Conventional approaches implemented to overcoming these drawbacks have involved adding antioxidants towards shielding the polymers against the action of free radicals and other oxidizing agents. Nonetheless, this integration often poses challenges concerning antioxidant compatibility, dispersion, uniformity, homogeneity, and stability within the final material. Hence, this work focuses on proposing a new strategy for formulating aqueous dispersions of antioxidant 1076 assisted by polysorbate 80 for integrating into PVC resins. This proposal aids in the advancement of novel polymer materials with superior performance, quality, and longevity. Moreover, it offers additional benefits, like lowered energy and raw material consumption, thereby contributing to reducing manufacturing costs and lessening environmental impact.
