High Performance of Superhydrophilic Mesocellular foam Superabsorbent Modified by Biocompatible Solvent for Removal of RB18 Dye and Al (III) Metal Ion
摘要
A superhydrophilic mesocellular foam (MCF) superabsorbent was synthesized via the hydrothermal method and the surface was modified by eutectic biocompatible solvent. Then characterization of the prepared superabsorbents through the utilization of diverse methodologies. The synthesized superabsorbents were used to assess the adsorption of Reactive Brown 18 (RB 18) and aluminum (Al (III)) metal ion. A Central Composite design (CCD) based on response surface methodology (RSM) was employed to investigate various parameters including pH, mass of adsorbent, pollutant concentration, time, and pollutant volume. Optimal conditions resulted in efficiencies of 99.99% for RB 18 dye, and Al (III). The study found that the pseudo-second-order model accurately described the adsorption of RB 18 dye, and Al (III) metal ion. The equilibrium data for RB 18 dye followed the Anderson (V) model, while the equilibrium data for Al (III) metal ion followed the Khan model. Due to water scarcity, the new polymer superabsorbent is ideal for eliminating pollutants and heavy metals in the textile and dyeing industries.
