Ag(I) Complexes of Boron–Containing Schiff Base Ligands: Synthesis, Characterization, Properties and Thermal Stability
摘要
Schiff base compounds are stable compounds and have made it widely available in many different fields today. Herein, novel Schiff bases containing boron in their aromatic structure derived 2-fluoro-4-formylphenylboronic acid, 4-aminophenol, 2-amino-5-methylphenol, 2-amino-4-chlorophenol and their metal complexes with Ag + were synthesized. Different spectroscopic techniques such as infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), nuclear magnetic resonance (1H-NMR), ultraviolet-visible spectroscopy (UV-vis), liquid chromatograpy mass spectroscopy (LC-MS), X-ray powder diffraction (XRD), and scanning electron microscope (SEM/EDX) were used in the characterization of Schiff base ligand and silver complexes. Thermogravimetric analysis (TGA/DTG/DTA) was performed to examine the resistance of all synthesized compounds to heat and the kinetic parameters (Activation energy (Ea), enthalpy (ΔH), entropy (ΔS), and gibbs free energy (ΔG)) of the thermal degradation steps were calculated graphically by using the Coats-Redfern, Horowitz-Metzger, and Broido methods.
