Oxidation by Silver(III) Complex: Synthesis, Characterisation and Mechanisms of Un-catalysed and Catalysed Reactions
摘要
The current review discusses the synthesis, characterisation and kinetic aspects of newly synthesised unstable, unusual oxidation state diperiodatocuprate(III). The reactions have been classified as uncatalyzed and catalysed reaction mechanisms. The mechanisms depend on nature of substrates for a particular metal ion and largely on the alkali concentration used. It also describes the Ru(III)/Os(VIII) catalysed pathways. The mechanisms of different molecules including simple organic molecules, amino acids and pharmaceutically important compounds focussing on those occurring in an aqueous alkaline medium, have been described in detail. The utility and scope of silver(III) catalyzed reactions in analytical chemistry are discussed.
