<p>The high catalytic activity and substrate specificity of natural enzymes are particularly attractive for catalytic applications. However, their industrial application has long been limited by difficulties in preparation, purification, low stability, requirement for harsh reaction conditions, and difficulty in recycling and reuse. In this case, biomimetic enzymes have become highly promising alternatives and attracted extensive research interests in these decades. In this review, we summarize various oxidoreductase-mimicking nanomaterials and mainly focus on their design, synthesis, and characterization.</p>
