Weiblicher Libidoverlust in der chinesischen Medizin
摘要
Libido describes the inner readiness and desire to be sexually active. Loss of libido in women is common, multifactorial, and often associated with considerable distress. This article provides an overview of the physiological and psychosocial foundations as well as their interrelations and presents therapeutic approaches using Western medical herbs within the framework of Chinese medicine (CM). Based on a literature review, female sexuality reflects a complex interaction between neurobiological processes, hormonal regulation, and emotional-mental factors. Integrating Western medicinal herbs into CM offers new opportunities for personalized treatment strategies for female loss of libido, which should be specifically investigated in future studies.
