摘要

This commentary addresses the increasing problem of flawed studies and the importance of rigorous scientific practices, highlighted by the recent retraction of a systematic review on acupuncture during pregnancy, originally published in BMJ Open. This retraction, prompted by statisticians at the University of Heidelberg, underscores the need for stricter quality controls and improved peer-review processes. The article critiques the methodological weaknesses of the retracted study, such as inconsistent control group selection, inaccurate data extraction, high dropout rates, and significant heterogeneity among included studies. These errors not only compromise the reliability of the findings but also raise broader concerns about the integrity of scientific publications. To strengthen scientific rigor, the article advocates for enhanced peer-review systems, greater transparency in reporting, and post-publication reviews. The ultimate goal is to restore trust in scientific literature by promoting higher standards of quality and reliability in research.
