<p>The cultivation of common bean may face production constraints, mainly due to diseases that have a high potential to compromise grain yield, especially under environmental conditions favorable to their development. This study aimed to evaluate the influence of bacterial blight, anthracnose, and angular leaf spot on the grain yield of common bean in Santa Catarina, as well as to classify genotypes according to their tolerance to these diseases. Data from Value for Cultivation and Use trials conducted in different regions of the state were utilized, employing machine learning techniques in Python software. The results indicate that the contribution of these diseases was limited to a small fraction of the variation in grain yield across different environments in the state. In certain environments, this fraction was considerably higher. Most genotypes exhibited tolerance to diseases, demonstrating advances in the genetic improvement of common bean, particularly in the development of cultivars with some level of tolerance. The predominance of disease-tolerant genotypes suggests that the pressure exerted by these pathogens had little impact on grain yield across the totality of environments. However, in specific situations with greater disease influence, it is necessary to integrate knowledge to ensure the success of the crop and the continuous development of disease-tolerant cultivars, considering the ability of pathogens to overcome tolerance.</p>
