Vittorio Guidano in Chile: Travel Itinerary and its Impact on the History of Post-Rationalist Psychotherapy (1990–1999)

This article seeks to give an account of the itinerary in which Vittorio Guidano was present in Chile during the 1990s. The professional need of a group of Chilean psychologists to be trained around the model, the closeness that was cultivated with this group of professionals and with the audience that attended his lectures, the depth, solidity, originality and avantgarde of his theoretical and clinical proposal, explain the high frequency with which the Italian psychiatrist visited Chile between 1990 and 1999. In those 9 years, he laid the foundations for the development of post-rationalist in Chile, both in the creation of therapeutic centers and in the inclusion of the model in the classrooms of some universities in this country.
