Gompertz regression model for zero-inflated cure rate data with competing risks: an application to cutaneous melanoma data
摘要
Zero-inflated cure rate data characterize the scenario in survival analysis where a subset of individuals experiences immediate failure, while another proportion remains event-free even after sufficient follow-up. When failures may result from multiple distinct causes, competing risks models provide an appropriate analytical framework. In this study, we propose a zero-inflated cure rate regression model within the competing risks setting, employing the cumulative incidence function for inference. We demonstrate the robustness and efficacy of the proposed approach through simulation studies, and illustrate its practical utility with cutaneous melanoma data.
