Data on gastric emptying rates, symptom relief, and safety profiles were extracted and analyzed. Effectiveness was measured through gastric emptying half-life (T1/2, measured in min), 120-min gastric emptying rate (measured as a percentage), and adverse events.</p> Key results <p>The analysis revealed that cisapride significantly improved gastric emptying compared to placebo, with a mean difference (MD) of -33.74 for T1/2 (95% CI: -68.84 to -2.65, <i>P = </i>0.03). Additionally, the 120-min gastric emptying rate improved by -25.84 (95% CI: -16.80 to -25.84, <i>P &lt; </i>0.001). The occurrence of adverse events was low, with most patients tolerating the treatment well.</p> Conclusion and inferences <p>Cisapride demonstrates notable efficacy in improving gastric emptying in diabetic gastroparesis, with a generally acceptable safety profile. Clinicians should consider cisapride as a viable treatment option while monitoring patients for any potential side effects.
