Bounding the Solution Set of Overdetermined System of Interval Linear Equations

This paper introduces a method for determining the outer bounds of the least-squares solution set for an overdetermined system of linear equations with interval coefficients. The method utilizes the least-squares minimization technique to derive an explicit form of lower and upper bounds, effectively reducing the excess width effect. The comparative analysis demonstrates that the proposed method outperforms existing techniques and is applicable to a broad range of interval matrices. Additionally, the practical applicability of the method is demonstrated through its successful implementation in multiple-input-multiple-output (MIMO) wireless communication systems. The results highlight the effectiveness of the proposed technique in accurately estimating solution bounds and its potential for practical implementation.
