Some Results for a von Kármán Equation with Variable Exponent Modeling Suspension Bridges

A von Kármán equation with variable exponent is considered. The equation with partial free boundary conditions can be viewed as a mathematical model for suspension bridges. Several results, such as the uniqueness result, blow-up result and general decay result for the solution of the equation, are obtained under suitable assumptions.
