Peripartale Depressivität bei Frauen mit Behinderung
摘要
Peripartum depression can have a significant impact on the well-being and health outcomes of both mother and child. Factors such as socioeconomic disadvantage or lack of social support suggest that women with disabilities may be particularly vulnerable. However, this topic has been insufficiently considered in research to date. This study investigates the risk of peripartum depressive symptoms in women with disabilities compared to women without disabilities. For this purpose, 10 studies that collected data on both groups were identified via a systematic literature search. To make the studies more comparable, prevalence differences and prevalence ratios were calculated. The results show increased prevalence rates in women with disabilities, suggesting an increased risk of disease in this group. The determined prevalence differences (PD) range from 14.6% to 28.2%, while the prevalence ratios (PR) lie between 1.3 and 3.3. The methodological heterogeneity of the studies limits comparability. The results of the present review emphasize the need for further prospective studies that use consistent and valid methods for assessing disability to better understand the relationship between disability and peripartum depressive symptoms. Strategies for the prevention and treatment of prepartum and postpartum depression that specifically target the needs of women with disabilities appear indicated with regard to the health of mother and child.
