Ist ein Verbot der Leihmutterschaft mit Blick auf die Psyche noch zeitgemäß?

Against the background of its prohibition in Austria, a series of reflections on surrogacy are presented here. From a psychological point of view, not only the large number of people involved in such a pregnancy, the affective reactions to the topic of surrogacy in the past and present, conscious and unconscious fantasies about bodily interiors or the lack of research on long-term consequences must be taken into account, but also the change in family and gender relations when considering lifting the ban in Austria.
