摘要

A testosterone-producing tumor of the adrenal cortex can be a rare cause of virilization in prepubertal girls.

Typically, adrenal carcinomas in childhood are hormonally active and differ from tumors in adulthood. The excess of androgen also leads to rapidly progressive symptoms of pseudopubertas praecox with accelerated growth and significantly accelerated bone age. In the majority of cases, an advanced stage of adrenocortical carcinoma can be detected. It can be assumed that early diagnosis by the pediatric endocrinologist will lead to an improvement in the prognosis.
