Entrepreneurship education participation and job creation

In recent decades, entrepreneurship education has expanded significantly in higher education, driven in part by the aim to stimulate economic development and job creation. Previous research on the long-term outcomes of entrepreneurship education students has primarily focused on whether they transition into self-employment and business ownership. Using data from Canada’s National Graduate Survey, this study examines whether there are differences in job creation between two groups of recent university graduates who became entrepreneurs: those who participated in entrepreneurship education and those who did not participate. The findings reveal that entrepreneurs who previously participated in entrepreneurship education are more likely to have paid employees. Overall, we connect participation in entrepreneurship education to job creation among recent university graduates.
